L.M. Empowered Women of Hope Association emerged in 2010, driven by our president's vision, Leta H. Montague. Inspired by personal challenges, Leta turned adversity into a platform for change. As women began seeking her guidance amid their own struggles, the organization was born from a shared determination to rebuild lives.
Central to our mission is the belief that women are the cornerstone of every home. The association, under Leta's leadership and a dedicated board, is committed to offering continuous, sustainable support. Through education, skill enhancement, and empowerment, we aim to fortify women, strengthen families, impact communities, and inspire other women.
Our emblems, red roses, and a dove, encapsulate the essence of our commitment—red roses signify strength, and the dove represents peace.
Our mentoring for change program caters to youths aged 11-17 facing barriers, offering a 10-month journey focused on leadership, self-sufficiency, academic improvement, and holistic development. It encompasses work experience, leadership training, tutoring, mentoring, and exposure to arts, sports, and community engagement.
Our association believes in giving back. Weekly, women and youths collaboratively prepare and distribute 150 lunch bags to the homeless. Monthly, we cook balanced meals for 400 people in shelters. The association engages in diverse community activities, collecting items for the homeless, tutoring troubled youths, and preparing them for gainful employment.
Graduates of our program are encouraged to mentor younger youths. Women from our association extend mentoring into prisons, participating in programs for inmates, emphasizing the strength derived from cultural diversity and educational empowerment.
Leta's personal experience during a traumatic period led to the creation of this non-profit group. The association operates with a passionate team dedicated to strengthening homes, giving back to the less fortunate, and aiding young adults in mental, physical, and academic development.
Our strength lies in cultural diversity and a dedicated focus on education for mental health post-trauma. We support women of all backgrounds, marital statuses, and families, recognizing that a mentally healthy woman is vital for a stable home.
